Andrew Lawrence McElrath, 20, lifelong resident of Potomac Falls, VA, died Sept. 7, 2012. Andrew was born Nov. 12, 1991, in Reston, VA.

At Potomac Falls High School he played the Obo in the band and was a member of the Math, Science and Engineering club. He graduated with the class of 2009 from Potomac Falls High School and went on to further his education at the University of Maryland Baltimore campus. Andrew was a senior working on his biology major. Andrew enjoyed reading, music, boating, long bike rides, fantasy football and antique cars; but above all he loved basketball.

Andrew is survived by his beloved parents: Larry and Jacqueline McElrath of Potomac Falls; his sister: Audrey McElrath of Boston, MA; paternal grandfather: Mr. Leslie McElrath of Cincinnati, OH; maternal grandmother: Bernice Williams of Bordman, OH; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services were held at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel in Leesburg Sept. 13. Pastor Duke Bendix officiated. Interment was in Union Cemetery in Leesburg.
