Ashburn Girl Scout Troop 4294 Participates in Project Elf

Ashburn Girl Scout Troop 4294 recently participated in Project Elf, holiday program collaboration between the Loudoun County Prevention/Intervention Program (Club R.E.A.L) and the Girl Scout troops in Loudoun County to help local families in our community that are going through a tough time and are in need of a little bit of holiday cheer.

In the true spirit of the season, Troop 4294 decided to adopt one of these local families. After receiving a list of the family's needs and wants, the girls set out on an afternoon shopping trip to pick out gifts and finished the day discussing the meaning of giving to those in need while wrapping all the gifts that were purchased.  They were able to find/purchase almost everything on their family's wish list!

The troop wants to give a special thanks to Fitwize4Kids in Ashburn for donating a Wii and a new twin size mattress!

Project Elf helped over 70 local families this season and all girls in troops that participated received a patch for their efforts.
