Ashby Ponds Embarks on New Expansion in Loudoun County, Virginia
Construction Announced for New Ashby Ponds Residential Building – Red Robin View
ASHBURN, VIRGINIA – February 24, 2011 – In its ongoing efforts to bring the Erickson Living lifestyle to an increasing number of people in Northern Virginia, Ashby Ponds is announcing plans for construction of a new residential building, Red Robin View. This project continues the planned expansion of this one-of-a-kind campus which first opened its doors in the fall 2008, and is now home to over 500 community members.
“This is exciting news for people looking to find a vibrant, healthy and active retirement community in Northern Virginia,” said Ashby Ponds’ Executive Director, David Gallagher. “Red Robin View overlooks a nature-rich landscape full of trees, ornamental grasses and bushes, all surrounding a gorgeous pond with an adjoining large gazebo that people will enjoy each day.”
Construction of the four-level building, with 105,000 square feet and 80 newly designed spacious independent living apartment (with enclosed under-building parking), is expected to begin in the spring 2011 and conclude early 2012.
The new one and two bedroom spacious apartment-style homes will feature impressive views (especially from select apartment balconies and screened porches), wall-to-wall carpeting, kitchens with stainless steel appliances, as well as large bathrooms and ample closet space. In addition, with easy access to the main campus clubhouse (Cardinal Clubhouse) via glass enclosed walkways, new community members will enjoy the conveniences of two restaurants, an on-site medical center, fitness center, day spa, classroom, creative arts studio, computer lab, and much, much more.
“I would endorse living at Ashby Ponds to anyone,” said resident Mary Means. “This is an active campus with different groups and interesting ways to meet new friends… it’s a community that will appeal to anyone looking for a carefree retirement lifestyle.”
Located in the heart of Ashburn, Ashby Ponds is Erickson Living’s second Northern Virginia campus (sister community to Greenspring) and is easily accessible from Fairfax, Arlington and Loudoun counties. The location is a pleasing alternative to highly congested and densely populated neighborhoods. “Just as the good news about Greenspring’s wonderful campus spread quickly during its growth, the expansion at Ashby Ponds is opening up new opportunities in Northern Virginia for people to discover what retirement years are all about,” said Ashby Ponds’ Director of Sales and Marketing Lyn Lubic, who previously held the same position at Greenspring.
