Election Day at Primrose School of Ashburn

Today October 23rd, the Primrose School of Ashburn held its “Election 2012”. It was a beautiful celebration of democratic participation for our youngest citizens.

Loudoun County Supervisor, Ralph Buona, participated in the event by reading and explaining to the children about electoral processes.

After Mr. Buona's participation, the children, voter registration card in hand, proceeded to vote for class mascot, between Percy and Billy, two sweet Primrose characters. Each children was given an “I VOTED” sticker after casting their ballots.

This wonderful event teaches the children about citizenship and the election process, and opens their eyes to how collective decisions are made in a democratic way.
