Mrs. Helen D. Scheier, 89, of Ashburn, VA, went to be with the Lord, on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at Loudoun Nursing & Rehabilitation in Leesburg.

She was born Tuesday, Sept. 6, 1921, in Winthrop, ME; she was the daughter of the late Dimitri Elia and the late Theona Telo Elia.

Helen attended business school prior to her employment at Forest Hill Nursing Home as a bookkeeper for many years.

Helen was predeceased by her husband of 63 years William P. Scheier, in 2008.

Mrs. Scheier leaves to cherish her memory her three children: Judye and husband Roger Valliere of Ashburn, William and wife Catherine Scheier of Brewster, MA, and Marie and husband Steven Donnelly of Middleboro, MA; her sister-in-law Anna Paieda of Flemington, NJ; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 21371 St. Theresa Lane, in Ashburn. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
