Miss Josephine P. Scarano, 95, of Leesburg, VA, formerly of Forest Hills, NY, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012.

Josephine was born Jan. 28, 1917, in New York, NY. She was a daughter of the late Dominic Scarano and the late Paulina Caramanno Scarano.

She worked as an administrative assistant for the Department of the State on passports. She also worked in the Foreign Service and traveled all over the world with her job.

Josephine spent many of her early years with the traveling Rockettes and the Cole Brothers Circus, but her real passion was ballet.

Josephine is survived by her beloved sister, Rosina Messina, of Leesburg, and her nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Calvary Cemetery Chapel in Flushing, NY. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
