- Deceased's name: Ann Marie Fitch
Mrs. Ann Marie Fitch, 91, passed away Aug. 18, 2012, at the Falcon Landing West Falls Center in Potomac Falls, VA.
Ann was born July 12, 1921, in Garwood, NJ. She was a daughter of the late Anastasia and Nicholas O’Such.
For 35 years, Ann was the wife of the late Edward William Fitch, who predeceased her in 1976. During her husband’s U.S. Army career, Ann and Ed traveled around the world with their three children. Ann’s role as a mother was her most important calling, always supporting and nurturing their children. After her children were older, Ann worked briefly in mortgage banking, retiring from First Commonwealth Bank in Alexandria, VA, as a vice president. Prior to that, she worked at the Jersey Mortgage Company in Elizabeth, NJ.
After her husband’s death in 1976, Ann moved to Fort Washington, MD, and later to Lansdowne, VA, to be closer to her family. Her favorite times were with her family, celebrating events and holidays, and visiting with them. She also spent time as a volunteer at Inova Loudoun Hospital, and spent countless hours baking for the residents of Leisure World, friends and family. She was an avid Redskins fan and Nationals fan.
Ann’s generosity in all things, her giving heart, beautiful smile and tremendous faith will be remembered by all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: daughter Pat and husband Brian Kinney of Potomac Falls, VA, daughter Ann and husband Austin Kennedy of Lorton, and son Robert and wife Roberta Fitch, of Arlington, VA; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Ann also is survived by her sisters Helen Hall of Lansdowne, VA, and Mary Schadewald of West Palm Beach, FL; and her brothers Michael O’Such of Stuart, FL and Francis O’Such and wife Marguerite of Stewartsville, NJ.
