Stanley Jones Wortman, 89, a lifelong resident of Loudoun County, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, in Leesburg, VA.

Mr. Wortman was born March 20, 1923, in Leesburg to the late Clinton T. and Sallie Power Wortman. His daughter, Nancy Crosen, brother, Vernon Wortman and sister, Thelma Wortman predeceased him.

He was raised on the family farm in Ashburn, VA, and helped farm the land before getting into the banking business. Mr. Wortman retired from the House of Representatives as a property supply clerk in the 1980s. He was a lifelong member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Ashburn.

Mr. Wortman is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Lora Munroe Wortman, of Leesburg; a son: Charles Wortman (Robin), of Sterling; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services were held in November.
