Book Event Brings Children, Beamer the Dog to INOVA
Local author writes book with all profits going to charity.
Beamer the dog was the star of the show Thursday at a children's book series launch event held at Inova Loudoun Hospital.
The four book series, entitled “The Beamer Book Series”, features Beamer, a gentle therapy dog, as the main character. In the books, Beamer is able to introduce many of the people he has met in the hospital while working as a therapy dog.
People attending the event were able to meet Beamer and the other main characters from the books.
The books were written by Cindy Chambers as a way to introduce kids to the wonderful doctors and hospital staff she has come to know as a board member at Inova Loudoun Hospital. She wanted to help kids reduce their fear of visiting a hospital.
Chambers is donating all of the profits from the books sales to charity, including Inova Loudoun Hospital.
“There is a wonderful feeling that this creates with a circle of giving,” Chambers said.

Awful the raises that Inova is giving out this year since they didn't give raises last year. The raises do not even keep up with the inflation rate for this year or last year.
