Child Care Facility Along Waxpool Near Ashburn Road

New facility would allow up to 70 children, a reduction from initial request.

The Loudoun Board of Supervisors on Monday approved a special exception to permit a 10,860-square-foot child care center along Waxpool Road. Applicant Navneen Sandhu identified the school as Harvard Junior Preschool in the request.

The facility was approved on a 0.78-acre, trapezoid-shaped parcel next to the shopping center where the and are located. A vacant white house now sits on the property. Anyone who driven along Waxpool between Broadlands and Ryan's Corner are likely quite familiar with the home, which sits very near Ashburn Road.

The special exception allows up to 70 children, from newborns to age 5, a reduction from an earlier request for up to 110 children. In addition the size of the play area increased from 45 square feet to 57 square feet. The facility will also employ up to 11 people.
