Crime Report: Bicycles Taken from Yards in Eastern Loudoun

Incidents from the past week as reported by the Sheriff's Eastern Loudoun Station.

Bicycles were reported taken in separate incidents July 2 in the Eastern Loudoun Sheriff’s Station coverage area. The first event occurred on Marigold Circle where a homeowner reported seeing two unknown black male juveniles taking a bicycle from the residence. The homeowner unsuccessfully attempted to follow the boys. The second incident occurred nearby on Canopy Terrace where a bicycle was reported taken from the front yard of a residence.

Other incidents reported from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Eastern Loudoun Station:

  • Assault: A 14-year-old reported that he was fishing on the near Whittingham Circle at 3 p.m. June 29 when a known juvenile acquaintance took his fishing equipment. The 14-year-old then picked up a fishing knife and brandished it. The incident remains under investigation.
  • Sex Offense: A 46-year-old woman was walking on a bike path in the area of CountrySide Boulevard and Austin Court at 4:55 p.m. June 29 when an unknown juvenile male passed her on a bicycle. As he rode by he touched her inappropriately, according to a report on the incident. The suspect – described as a White male, 14 to 17-years-old with blonde curly hair – continued to ride toward Algonkian Parkway. He had on no shirt and wore blue swim trunks. Deputies searched community pools in the immediate area and interviewed staff to try and determine the identity of the subject.  No subject matching this description was located.
  • Larceny: A purse was reported taken from a vehicle on the 20500 block of Morningside Terrace between 6 p.m. June 29 and 9:30 a.m. June 30. A second vehicle in the area had been rummaged through. The purse was located in a common area during a ground search of the area.
  • Burglary: Several bottles of alcohol were reported taken from the Sterling Golf Club on the 300 block of South Sterling Boulevard between 10:40 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. at June 29. All bottles were recovered outside the building.
  • Auto Theft: A victim reported he was selling his 1995 Black Acura NSX on the 45700 block of Oakbrook Court of 3:30 p.m. June 30. A potential buyer test-drove the vehicle and never returned.
  • Larceny: Two purses were reported taken from a vehicle on the 43800 block of Harry Byrd Highway between 9:10 p.m. and 9:21 p.m. June 30.  The passenger side window was damaged to gain entry.
  • Destruction of Property: Three vehicles were reported damaged in the driveway of a residence on the 30 block of Cedar Drive between 8 p.m. June 28 and 5 a.m. June 29.
  • Destruction of Property: A deputy on patrol observed a damaged lock to the Arcola Methodist Church on the 24700 block of Evergreen Mills Road between 5 p.m. July 1 and 1:13 p.m. July 2. No entry was gained.
  • Destruction of Property: The windshield of a vehicle was reported damaged in the area of Summerhill Place and Cascades Parkway at 10:21 p.m. July 2.
  • Destruction of Property: The rear passenger side window of a vehicle was reported damaged on the 720 block of North Vernon Street between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. July 4.
