Dulles Greenway’s Drive for Charity Raises $268,942

The annual fundraiser donates tolls from the privately operated road to local organizations.

The Dulles Greenway’s 8th annual Drive For Charity Thursday raised more money than any previous year, tallying $268,942.85 that will be donated to local charities and a local scholarship program.

“The Drive for Charity is always a fantastic event and each year we see a increase in traffic,” said Terry Hoffman, a spokesman for the Dulles Greenway, in a press release. “The commitment Dulles Greenway drivers have to our charity partners are making a real difference in people’s lives.”
During the past eight years, the Greenway has raised nearly $1.8 million for local charities and scholarships.

The 14-mile Dulles Greenway is privately operated by TRIP II, an entity of Australia-based Macquarie Group, through a concession from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
