Election Officers Needed in Loudoun County
Several hundred people needed to work at 85 precincts on November 6, 2012.
The Loudoun County Electoral Board needs several hundred new election officers to work across 85 precincts on Nov. 6, 2012.
The hours are from 5 a.m. until all post-election paperwork is finished, usually between 8:30 and 9 p.m., the board said in a statement.
"For those who cannot work the full day, half-day shifts are available, either from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. or from 12 noon until the paperwork is completed," it said.
All election officers must attend a training session.
Election officers are paid $100 for the day, plus $20 for the training session.
If you are interested in serving on Nov. 6:
• Drop by the Voter Registration office at 750 Miller Drive S.E., Leesburg, to sign up in person.
• Download forms from the Loudoun County website and mail them in, or, send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Include your name, address, and daytime telephone number.
High school students ages 16 and older can sign up to be election pages. Students are placed in precincts close to their homes and can work in pairs if they have a partner, the board said.
