Kids Fishing Contest Winners Announced

Congratualtions to 3-year-old Colt Hancock for taking home the grand prize in , and to Skai Ronis and the Griffin siblings for finishing a close second and third in the balloting.

For Colt, the old adage "dress for success" certainly applied to his approach to the contest. Sporting slick "Future Fisherman" apparell, Colt showed the future is now as he hauled in a nice bass and bluegill at one of the Brambleton ponds during last . As the grand prize winner, Colt will recieve a kids fishing fun pack courtesy of our sponsor Blue Moon Construction, which will include a rod and reel, tackle box, and lures. He will also received a Patch T-shirt.

Skai Ronis came by the Fishing-fest and borrowed one of the loaner rod and reel combos supplied by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries to catch several nice bluegills at another Brambleton pond. This was Skai's first fishing trip, and the smiles in his pictures indicate it won't be his last. Skai will receive an assortment of fishing tackle for his next fishing trip as the second place winner, as well as a Patch T-shirt.

Last but not least, the Griffin brother and sister combo teamed up to hit the Ashburn waterways in tandem. The fish didn't stand a chance against this dynamic duo and their floppy sun-blocking hats, as they caught bass and bluegill in a great morning on the water. The Griffin kids will receive totally sweet Patch T-shirts for their winning entry.
