Lost Creek Winery and Vineyards

Lost Creek is an excellent place to enjoy a wine tasting or host a special event

Nestled near the edge of Lucketts off Spinks Ferry Rd. along Virginia's Wine Trail, Lost Creek Winery and Vineyards is an ideal place to spend the afternoon, have a wine tasting or just relax.

The fulfillment of a dream for owners Bob and Carol Hauck, the first grapes at Lost Creek were planted in 1995, eventually reaching maturity in 2001 and yielding the first bottles of Lost Creek wine.

Lost Creek takes pride in growing its own fruit and on site they grow a number of varieties from around the world. The chardonnay and merlot are used for their varietals of the same name; the merlot pairing with your favorite comfort foods and the chardonnay being light and easy on the palate.

Some of their other wines are made from innovative combinations of their grape inventory, which includes such diverse offerings as vidal, viognier, cabernet sauvignon, zinfandel, chambourcin, sauvignon blanc, niagara, traminette, sangiovese and more.  Their 'Spring Time,' for example, combines vidal, viognier, chardonnay and imported muscat canelli–the single grape species they import from outside–in a semi-sweet wine, and their 'Christmas Blend' contains vidal and chardonnay, this time combined with cabernet sauvignon and chambourcin.

Throughout the year Lost Creek Winery features special events and live music.  As manager Susan Mitchell puts it, "we're not just in in the wine business, we're in the entertainment business."

The winery offers a banquet room that's excellent for weddings or other parties alongside a patio and outdoor pavilion.  Stop in for a wine tasting and enjoy six to nine wines, depending on the season, for just $5.00.  They also have some light food accompaniments.

Lost Creek Winery is open Thu - Mon, noon to 6:00pm.
