Lotte Plaza to Take Over Bloom Space

The international food market will occupy the anchor spot at Farmwell Hunt shopping center.

It looks like Lotte Plaza, an international food market, plans to take over the anchor slot at the Farmwell Hunt shopping center, the space formerly occupied by Bloom.

Bloom previously had two stores in Ashburn, but both were closed after the parent company downsized and converted many Bloom stores to Food Lions.

The other former Bloom location in Ashburn, at Village Center at Belmont Greene, closed prior to the Farmwell Hunt location and remains empty. Patch previously asked readers what should go in that space; read what they had to say. Representatives for Trader Joe’s, the most common store reader suggested for the Belmont Greene space, did not respond to inquiries.

As for Lotte, there’s forum on the Broadlands HOA website about the Chantilly location. Also, check out this Patch listing for a Lotte store in Georgetown.

About this column: Patch asks its readers what they'd like to see in certain empty spaces around the county. Related Topics: Farmwell Hunt, Lotte Plaza, and bloom

It did occur to me that there's another one nearby. Hopefully I can find out more about their plans soon.

Lotte is a great store; hopefully it would be in line with one in Chantilly. Global Food in Ashburn is no match to the freshness of vegetables at Lotte. All for it.

Love Lotte! Best place to get Korean staples. Hopefully they'll have a restaurant and bakery as well.

I am so glad there is GOOD competition for the overpriced Harris Teeters in Ashburn,Va. Lotte is super quality, low prices, and extremely organized. Thank you Lotte for arriving in Ashburn,Va.

Global Foods is also good, but, limited in their selection for South asian foods.

All said and done . Honeymoon is over, prices are very high compared to global foods and quality of vegetables is also poor.Their advertisements in the paper is misleading. The store is small and also they don't have much verity like Global food.I love shopping at global as it has more space not crammed up.
