Loudoun Citizens’ Police Academy Set for March
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has planned its 32nd academy for residents.

Loudoun Sheriff Michael L. Chapman recently announced that the 32nd Citizens’ Police Academy commences March 13.
Members participate in training classes taught by Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office personnel. The classes give residents who attend an overview of law enforcement within the agency, with the option of participating in a ride-a-long with a deputy after completing the academy.
The free sessions begin at 7 p.m. each Wednesday from March 13 - May 22 and run two and a half hours. Locations will be announced.
The classes are open to Loudoun County residents 18 and older. To enroll, contact Karen Lauzier at karen.lauzier@loudoun.gov or by calling (703) 737-8238, from 9 a.m. to 5p.m. Monday through Friday. Registration is limited to 40 participants on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Another academy will be held in the fall.

This is a good opportunity for active citizens to better understand the complete mission of our hard-working sheriff’s deputies. These sessions equip HOA and other community leaders with the background to assist law enforcement in the security and well being of their neighborhoods.
As our culturally diverse population gradually transitions from a rural to suburban locality, it is imperative that residents of Loudoun continue to seek out new means of instruction that promote a positive relationship between the community and local law enforcement.
In this way we can ensure a strong bond is established between citizen and the county employees whose foremost responsibility is to maintain our much cherished community security.
