Loudoun Government Closed Dec. 24-26

The three-day break includes an extra day off for county government workers this year.

Loudoun County government offices will be closed Monday, Dec. 24, through Wednesday, Dec. 26 for the Christmas holiday. In addition, county government office will be closed Monday, Dec. 31, and Tuesday, Jan. 1, for the New Year’s holiday.

In the past, government offices have opened on Dec. 26, but after Gov. Bob McDonnell granted the day for state employees, the Loudoun Board of Supervisors aligned the county’s schedule with the state's.

At about 560 thousand dollars a day for 3500 hundred people to have the 24th, the 26th and the 31st off that's about 1,680,000.00 dollars. Like anyone not sucking on the government teat these people should be using their PTO or vacation time if the want to take these days off. How does the Department of Econimic Development feel about the strain put on our small business community. I know lets do a cluster study and waste some more money. That's 1.68 million that could be used to buy down our school bills .... The Board of Spending needs a wakeup call! Vote them all out next election!!
