LTEs: Support Voiced for One Loudoun Stadium

Nearby residents weigh in about why they like the proposed move of a ballpark for Loudoun Hounds, NASL soccer team.

To the editor,

I support the Loudoun Hounds ballpark at One Loudoun and I live in Potomac Green. Opponents are now implying that the recently released initial comments by the Loudoun County Departments of Planning and the Office of Transportation raise too many questions to allow the project’s approval.

That is completely inaccurate. The comments mean one thing and one thing only: the County staff is doing its job and doing it well. In stark contrast to claims that the ballpark is a “done deal” and being rushed through, planners are leaving no stone unturned and asking for specifics on key areas of concern.

In the end, all Loudouners will be able to be sure that their issues about noise, light, traffic and security will be fully addressed and that One Loudoun and the Hounds will be held to their promise to be good neighbors. Not to mention enjoying the economic and other benefits that come with professional sports and a first-class facility and community-gathering place.

Sincerely,

Rich Riccelli
Potomac Green Resident, Ashburn

Dear editor,

I have been looking forward to taking my family to baseball, soccer and entertainment events right here in Loudoun County and I fully support the new Hounds ballpark at One Loudoun.

If they want their stadium approval expedited, OneLoudoun should expedite the Rt. 7 / Ashburn Village Blvd. intersection they are supposed to build.

Miller and Smith is and has been working diligently with Loudoun County, VDOT and the affected property owners to get the approvals necessary to build the interchange. We look forward to keeping the community posted on the progress. For all the facts on the BallPark please visit www.oneloudounballpark.com.

People living in Eastern Loudoun need to come to terms with the fact that in about another decade or so this area will be similar to Tysons. If you don't like it, you might want to consider other less populated areas to live.

No Rich, it is completely accurate but better yet let's let people read the report themselves or the summary posted at www.NoStadiumOn7.org. Here is a link to the full report:
