The 2011 Northern Region Cheerleading Tournament Finals took place Nov. 6 at Fairfax High School. The Stone Bridge squad second took place and qualified for the state tournament.
Eight teams competed Saturday for four spots at the State Cheerleading Tournament Nov. 12 at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Besides Stone Bridge, Fairfax, Herndon and West Springfield high schools also advanced to the tournament next Saturday.
