A comprehensive plan amendment and related land-use applications required to permit the move of the Loudoun Hounds planned stadium from Kincora to One Loudoun were moved to the “top of the pile,” as County Chairman Scott York (R-At Large) put it during this week’s board meeting.
The Hounds recently announced plans to move the stadium because they would not be able to start playing in 2014 at the Kincora site. York said the move was mutually agreeable to all parties.
Some residents have expressed concerns about the impact the minor league baseball team's stadium would have on transportation and the noise generated from games and other events that would be permitted.
“I know they’ve got some concerns about transportation and noise. We’re going to work through those,” Broad Run Supervisor Shawn Williams (R-Broad Run) said during the meeting.
A spokesman for the team said this week that the stadium likely would be turned slightly, compared to the rendering first released, to help reduce potential noise from events.
York said during the meeting that the expedited review does not mean the applications will forego all the scrutiny of any such change, but simply be moved ahead of other projects in the queue.
“It is simply this, and nothing more, nothing less … applications for the stadium go to the top of the pile instead of the bottom of the pile,” he said. “I’m supportive of this because I don’t want to lose an opportunity for baseball.”

Can someone ask shawn williams about the difference in price between the 45 acres for 20 million dollars for HS8 and the 14 million dollars the county got from raging wire for 75 acres. Do property prices drop rapifly or did we jusy sell some of the most valuabe property in Loudoun for less then we should have?

What a surprise this is going to the TOP OF THE PILE! Especially now that the nearby senior village of Potomac Green is up in arms about the close proximity and the noise, traffic and potential safety issues. The artist's renedition of the stadium (which will host other events such as concerts and festivals for up to 10,000 spectators) is grossly under proportion and the stadium and assossiated parking will replace a great deal of the planned 'town center'. Over 300 residents showed up at a meeting to ask questions (which were grossly ignored or had no answer to) and letters, emails and a petition is circulating to deny the rezoning that is needed to put this 'special exception project' in place only 2500 feet from the senior community's back yard. Which party is this our Supervisors are representing? FOR THE PEOPLE?? Sure doesn't sound like it to me. The party who is going to ruin the quality of life for over 1000 of the existing homes nearby sounds like a typical FOR BIG BUSINESS not us little folks.

Yeah Joe, since I moved here 4 months ago I've learned a lot about Loudoun county..... now I get to VOTE on Nov 6th and I think I know which party is for big business and not for the best interests of their constituents ,,,,no matter what they SAY in the ads. HURRY UP AND PUSH THIS THROUGH BEFORE THOSE OLD PEOPLE DO THE MATH OF HOW CLOSE IT IS to their patios and peace.
Every little vote counts they say.

Sounds a lot lije up by Wegmans there was a planned 55 and over section that has now been opened to families with children. It's all about money with the ballpark nothing to do with "infrastructre" but the BOSpending has imposed a tax on ticket sales. MO, mo, mo money spend, spend and then borrow and spend. Even the school cuts were actually a 8% increase! C'mon man!

At our meeting, they had the nerve to say the stadium would CREATE JOBS. Oh? Take away all the professional office buildings housing 100's maybe 1000's of professional jobs and replace it with a stadium employing 50 part time people making minimum wages. That math adds up to MINUS jobs to me!! Then to add insult to injury they offered us all part time jobs (taking tickets, tossing hot dogs). Isn't our government supposed to represent us and our best interests? Talk about being out of touch with the middle class?
