Demand Sensible Gun Safety Regulations

In the State of the Union addressPresident Obama called for the enactment of sensible gun regulations.  This should be the rallying cry for everyone concerned about gun violence across our nation.

I am a candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates in the 34th District because our representative does not vote for the values, the priorities, or the interests of this district.  In fact, she has an A rating and takes her lead from the NRA. Just this week our delegate voted to ban the disclosure of information about concealed handgun permit holdersIt’s time to for this to stop.

We must demand sensible gun safety regulations including universal background checks, limits on high-capacity magazines, and meaningful laws against gun trafficking. I support our second amendment rights, and believe these are solutions we can all support.

Gun safety is a personal issue for me. My brother was murdered by a robber using a handgun likely bought off the street. Thousands of other families across America have been victimized by gun violence.  We cannot be silent; we cannot stand on the sidelines. Act now. Let your voice be heard.  Contact our Virginia lawmakers.  Demand that they enact sensible gun regulations.

Hooray for our delegate voting against disclosure. Stop being so knee jerk about news when statistics show a) compared to other means of injury and demise, gun danger is extremely low for any person who does not partake in a criminal lifestyle, and b) that if guns were banned then they would still be out on the street. Sensible gun regulations already exist. That said - I am truly sorry about your brother. That is horrible.

GOP Del. Comstock has voted for unlimited handgun sales, and supported legislation allowing concealed weapons in bars and cars. She does not represent the values of our community. Her brand of extremist Cuccinelli politics has made Virginia the laughing stock of the nation.

What Mrs. Murphy thinks is 'sensible' is insanity to me. The 2nd amendment is to protect us from people like her. She, and Dear Leader, will decide for us what is sensible.... 'from my cold dead hands'

Chicago is the laughing stock - strictest gun laws and a horrible crime rate to go along with those laws. Gun control only endangers good people needlessly.

We already have strict gun laws, they just need to be enforced. Have our police and sheriffs stop playing meter maid and fight crime. All the laws in the world aren't going to stop a lunatic doing what they want. Now I know who NOT to vote for, but really sorry about your brother.

Knowing who has a concealed gun permit is not part of the amendment nor is it any of your business. Knowing where the gun came from that killed your brother is something the police and the court should know, sorry for your loss but that does not make your bad ideas about gun control any less bad.
