Local sports club gets boost from local business.
Elizabeth Storms, of B Moore Hair Salon, recently accepted a sponsorship check on behalf of the Stone Bridge Rowing Team from Paisano's Ashburn. "I am so grateful for Paisano's and their exceptional community outreach programs," Storms said, according to a press release. Stone Bridge Rowing is a private club that rows under their local high school banner. Paisano's Ashburn operates in the Cameron Chase Shopping Center on Waxpool Road.

After 20 years on WRQX, the station pulls the plug on popular morning radio program.
For those who listen to Mix-107.3 FM, "Love your show babe," was the signature sign-off for morning show host Jack Diamond and how listeners signed off when calling in to the show. Loyal listeners may have noticed that Diamond has been missing in the mornings the past two weeks, replaced temporarily by various hosts. But Diamond's not on vacation — he's off the station for good, according to the station. Two weeks ago, the Washington DC radio station WRQX-FM, owned by Cumulus Media, deleted all references to the popular longtime radio host on its Web site and loyal listeners unknowingly heard the last morning show by Diamond after 22 years on the radio station. The Leesburg Brewing Company, which recently opened along Loudoun Street SW in Leesburg, has planned an official kickoff ceremony for the new brewpub. Regal has planned a 10-theater complex at the mall just east of Route 28.
Lerner Enterprises, the developer of the Dulles Town Center, has announced plans for a 2,000-seat, 10-theater movie complex at the mall to be called the Regal Dulles Town Center Stadium 10 & RPX Theaters. The RPX stands for Regal Premium Experience. The new theaters are expected to open in the middle of 2014. The project consists of a 45,000 square-foot theater complex, including a new mall entrance, between JCPenney and Sears. Construction will not interfere with regular mall operation. The locally owned business focuses on the fun of art; professional training not required.
Gigi Toth, of Falls Church, and Julie Lele, of Reston, held the grand opening ceremony for their new business, The Art Station, Saturday at the Village at Leesburg. Councilwoman Kelly Burk and Mayor Kristen Umstattd turned out for a ribbon-cutting event and presented a plaque to one the many news businesses popping up around Leesburg. “We just love the community here,” Lele said, adding that the Village was developing into a family-oriented shopping center. She said they decided to open the business to provide “something that met the busy lifestyles of families.” The Art Station offers family art classes, adult classes and summer camps. Mason Enterprise Center businesses and others welcomed the U.S. Senator Friday.
U.S. Senator dropped by the Mason Enterprise Center (MEC) in Leesburg Friday afternoon to lend his ear to local businesses and give a brief update about what’s happening on the Hill. The MEC is an incubator, which provides space and other assistance to those wishing to establish a new business. Loudoun Economic Development announced Thursday that Raytheon Company has chosen to consolidate the headquarters of its Intelligence, Information and Services business, showing the county’s continued prowess in luring big business.
