18g balsa wood structure holds 282lbs! Steuart Weller ES Odyssey of Mind team advances to World Finals!

The "Junior Thinking Caps", a team of six 3rd graders from Steuart Weller Elementary School, are headed to the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals in Ames, Iowa for their Stackable Structure Problem. After months of preparation and trials, the team placed 1st in regionals and 2nd in states to qualify for the World Finals.  The team includes; Todd Balwinski, Jennifer Bond, Kayla Bond, Maddie Brown, Sadie Bryant, and Jacob Miniuk.

While the competition is fierce, there is also a feeling of camaraderie among competitors. Many students form life-long friendships that span the U.S. and the globe. At World Finals, teams have the chance to learn about other cultures through a common goal . . . to be as creative as they can!
