The Step Sisters are proud to announce their 7th annual Brambleton Ribbon Run taking place on Saturday, April 5th. The event features a 5k, 10k and kids’ fun run and attracts approximately 2,000 runners and walkers to Brambleton’s town center. Proceeds from the race directly benefit area breast cancer patients. Individuals and teams wishing to register should visit www.BrambletonRibbonRun.com.
Founded in 2005, the Step Sisters work to improve the quality of life for those impacted by breast cancer. Each year, the Step Sisters hold several fundraising events with the Ribbon Run being the largest. To date, the organization has raised over $500,000.
Earlier this month, the Step Sisters announced a major change in its mission. Money now raised by the group will directly fund needed services for area breast cancer patients. After partnering with Inova Loudoun Hospital as well as several local vendors, the Step Sisters are able to provide transportation, fresh food delivery and house cleaning for those undergoing treatment for the disease.
New also for the Step Sisters this year, is the addition of an educational expo adjacent to the Ribbon Run. Sharon’s Showcase will highlight important resources available in the area and was created in memory of the first Step Sister to lose her battle to breast cancer.
Major sponsors of the Ribbon Run include: The Brambleton Group, StoneSpring Emergency Center, Northern Virginia Orthodontics, Go Bananas Toys, Kelly Insurance Agency, Harris Teeter, Joe Knows Real Estate (Powered by REMAX Gateway), Lifetime Fitness, Fitness Image Results, Brambleton Kids Run the Nation, Ashburn Accounting, Miller & Smith and Apt Orthodontics, among others.
The Step Sisters are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
