Obituary - Frances Moreland

Leesburg , VA—Frances Lovica Pierce Moreland went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family on August 25, 2013 at Heritage Hall Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. She had lived in Leesburg since 1992. Her death follows several years of declining health.

She was the second child born on to Ira and Alice Pierce of Otego, New York on January 17, 1922.   Mrs. Moreland is survived by her brother Clarence Lee Pierce of Oneonta, NY, and three daughters, Donna Moreland, Greenville, Maine; Alice Zoller, Leesburg, Virginia; and Anita Smith, Herndon, Virginia.  Also surviving are two sons-in-law, John Zoller and Shepherd Smith,  nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Before retiring in Leesburg at age 70, Frances spent 18 years of service with her husband as a missionary to Europe under Greater Europe Mission.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Greater Europe Mission, 18950 Base Camp Road, Monument CO 80132; the Children’s AIDS Fund, PO Box 16433, Washington DC 20041; or Gideon’s International, Leesburg Camp, PO Box 1143, Sterling, VA 20167.

On Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 2:00 pm a memorial service in celebration of her life will held at Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd, Leesburg, VA  20176. Burial will be in the Bennett Weatherly Cemetery, West Laurens, New York, Thursday August 29, 2013 at 1:00 P.M.
