Obituary - Roger L. James

It is with great sadness that we tell of the passing of Roger L. James; a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Named after a local sheriff and friend, Roger was born to proud parents William Lee and Betty Mae (Brown) James on August 28, 1951 in Leesburg, Virginia.  Roger was raised in Stumptown, Virginia and was a 1969 graduate of Loudoun County High School.  Following in his father's footsteps, he worked in the construction field;  showing exemplary talent building and remodeling/restoring many of the homes and barns in Loudoun County while making many lasting friendships along the way.

Introduced by her father, he was  married to Judy Fowler James.  They made their home in Harpers Ferry, WV.  They would have been married 42 years on September 3.  Together, they raised their four children; Becky, Wes, Matt and Kathy.  Roger was overjoyed with the birth of each grandchild.  He loved the times he spent with each one and proudly spoke of them to others.
