Get 'Pink'd' at Broad Run Tonight

Breast Cancer Awareness goal of DECA campaign, which ends with the home football game.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Broad Run High School DECA students conducted an annual campaign to create understanding among students and the community. The weeklong campaign wraps up at tonight during the Spartans’ home football game against the Patriot Pioneers at 7:30 p.m.

Each year, the theme plays on some variation of pink, the color associated with breast cancer awareness. Past themes have included “Got Pink?” and “Rock the Pink.” This year, DECA students chose “Pink’d.”

Students are encourages to wear “Pink’d” shirts that have been on sale all week at Farmwell Station Middle and Broad Run High schools. The T-shirts will also be available at the game for $10.

Raffle tickets, baked goods, cotton candy and more will be for sale, with all proceeds and donations going to the Loudoun Breast Health Network. Last year, the campaign raised more than $7,000, and this year the students hope to exceed that number, but need the community’s help.
