Enter Virginia State Parks' Photo Contest to Win a Free Vacation

Share a photo of any of Virginia's state parks on Facebook or Twitter and be entered for a chance to win a free 7-night vacation.

Post a photo of any of Virginia’s 36 State Parks to Facebook or Twitter and you could win a free week’s vacation.

Virginia State Parks announced its Treasure the Moments photography contest Tuesday that will continue through Aug. 13.

“From historic sites and scenic vistas to fairy stones and shark teeth, our state parks are filled with cultural and natural treasures,” said Craig Seaver, Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation interim state parks director. “This photo contest allows our visitors the opportunity to capture forever the locations, items and scenery they treasure in our parks.”

Contestants are encouraged to take photographs of the “amazing views, fascinating history, and outstanding recreational opportunities” in any of Virginia’s 36 state parks and will be entered to win any of the following prizes:

  • 7-night stay in a Virginia State Parks cabin valued at up to $990 (up to 3 bedrooms; can be used any time during the year but subject to availability)

  • 2-night stay in a Virginia State Park valued at up to $330 (up to 3 bedrooms; must be used between Labor Day and the Friday before Memorial Day, subject to availability)

  • 3 nights camping in a Virginia State Park valued at up to $244 (any 6 person site; can be used any time during the camping season, subject to availability)

  • Virginia State Parks Annual “Naturally Yours” Passport Plus valued at $66

  • To enter the contest, visitors must snap a photo of the state park treasure and submit the image on Facebook or Twitter. For information about the contest, visit the Virginia State Parks’ Facebook page.
