Lottery Winner Gets $200,000 For Picking Same Numbers Twice

Cash 5 payout of $100,000 was twice as nice for Ashburn winner.

Ashburn's Nghia Nguyn had two reasons to hope his numbers paid off in a recent Cash 5 drawing, according to Virginia Lottery officials.

Nguyn had played the same numbers twice: 7-11-14-19-29. So, after the numbers won the Feb. 18 drawing, he won $200,000, instead of the standard $100,000 top prize.

The chances of winning the jackpot is 1 in 278,256.

“I was calm,” Nguyn said. “I couldn’t believe it. I was pretty happy.”
