Plenty of Chances Remain to Race Brambleton

The community's race series offers a range of opportunities to get competitive for a good cause.

If you missed the 6th annual Step Sisters Ribbon Run in April at the Brambleton Town Center, don’t worry, the community’s race season has just begun.

Over the year, the planned community in Ashburn has a variety of races that together are now called the Race Brambleton series. A Race Brambleton website now keeps residents up to date about new races as they are added to the schedule. www.racebrambleton.com

Ringing In Hope: A Salute To Our Troops Memorial Day Walk, Run & Fun

Date: May 27 (rain or shine)
Time:
5k race at 8 a.m., 10k race at 8:10 a.m., 1k Fun Run/Walk at 9:15 a.m.
Cost:
$10 for 1k, $25 for 5k, $30 for 10k. Children under 12 are free.

The annual Ringing in Hope Walk, Run & Fun event proceeds will benefit charities supporting military families. The event will have fun for the whole family, including a barrel train ride, moon bounce, ice cream truck, face painting, temporary tattoos, pony rides, food and more. 2nd Annual Kids’ Triathlon

8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Cost:
$35/Brambleton residents; $45/non-residents
Information:
Registration opens June 3, 2013 and has openings for up to 200 participants, ranging from ages 5-14 years old. The event will host young athletes in swimming, cycling and running races throughout the Brambleton community. The races will be organized by age group, and will focus on individual performance, promoting fit and active lifestyles for the young athletes and their families. There will be an awards ceremony, medals for participants who finish, goodie bags, and more. Proceeds from the Brambleton Kids’ Triathlon will directly benefit the Special Olympics program in Loudoun County.  For more information visit www.brambletonkidstriathlon.com.
