Purcellville Welcomes Loudoun Lyme 5K Race Sunday

For a third year, the race has been organized to raise awareness about Lyme and its impacts.

DryHome Roofing and Siding has planned the 3rd Annual Loudoun Lyme 5K/1M Sunday, May 19, at Loudoun Valley High School in Purcellville to raise awareness and money to help find a cure for Lyme disease.

Lyme is the number one tick-borne illness in the U.S., and affects Loudoun County more than any other county in Virginia. In fact, Loudoun is home to the third-largest number of Lyme cases in the United States. DryHome Roofing and Siding owner Steve Gotschi started the race/walk after watching his wife and many friends battle the disease.

The Loudoun Lyme 5K also features a 1M family walk and informational fair to educate the public about the disease, its causes and treatments. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. and the race starts at 8 a.m. The fair ends at 11 a.m.
