Video: Wandering Crane Rescued from Belmont Country Club

Watch a wild sandhill crane rescued from Bellmont Country Club home reunite with his kind in a video by Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy.

Ashburn's Belmont Country Club community befriended a peculiar visitor who appeared to be lost.

Lovingly nicknamed 'Kevin', after the giant bird from the Pixar film "Up," a non-native sandhill crane quietly appeared before a number of Ashburn residents and joined them for snacks and walks around the neighborhood since late May, The Washington Post reports.

The sandhill crane is a communal bird that migrates in flocks through the Midwest and Great Lakes - rarely seen in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Responding to multiple reports, Loudoun County Animal Control rescued Kevin on June 2. After he was evaluated for its injures, Kevin joined a herd of rehabilitating cranes at the Howell Conference and Nature Center in Michigan. The herd will be released to a nearby area populated by wild cranes.

See Kevin's reaction to meeting his new friends in the video above.
