AVFRD Fall Open House - Celebrating our Fire Fighting Personnel

We invite you, our friends and neighbors, into our home during our Fall Open House. We've packed the afternoon with fun for the whole family. The theme this year is “Two Ways Out,” and we’ll have a mock house to practice two ways out.  There will be Tacos and Hot Dogs; Popcorn & Cotton Candy; a Kitchen Safety station; Shoot the Hose; a huge Fire truck slide; and our feature this year is Touch-a-Truck where you can learn all about an Army Humvee and a 5-ton truck; see a Foam truck and a mobile ambulance bus and watch firefighters climb 100 ‘up into the bucket of the Tower truck. Want to sponsor a fire fighter ladder climb ending with the wail of the siren?  Consider donating $1 per foot or $100 to AVFRD.Get your child a stamp on our "Safety Express" to learn fire safety and prevention in a fun, educational environment. Our featured safety stops are:
Call 911; Smoke Detectors; Meet a Firefighter; and Stop, Drop, and Roll. Each child completing 2 of the 4 safety stops will receive an event t-shirt. Children completing all 4 stops will be entered into a grand prize drawing.
