Regency Era Country Dance
Dust off your favorite Regency era frock and grab your parasol, because it’s time for Aldie Mill Historic Park’s Regency Country Dance!
Period dress of the early 19th century is encouraged, but certainly not required. The picturesque Aldie Mill is conveniently located in the quaint village of Aldie, near the junction of U.S. Routes 15 and 50, one mile west of Gilbert’s Corners.
Tours of the 19th-century mill accompanied by milling demonstrations will be provided throughout the day. The event is free, but donations are always appreciated.

The Piedmont Regency Dancers have shared a love of English country dancing of the early and mid-19th century for over ten years. They provide dance demonstrations in such venues as Mount Vernon, Stratford Hall, and Long Branch. If you have watched productions of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility, or Emma, the figures and movement for this traditional social dance will be familiar to you.
Bring your dancing shoes and try a dance step or two!
