The Phantom of the Opera is based on an adaptation of the French novel by Gaston Leroux, with music by famed composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Charles Hart. The classic story tells the tale of a musically brilliant, but disfigured Erik, a masked ghost or “phantom” with an angelic, yet haunting voice who lives beneath the Paris Opera House.  Though the Phantom terrorizes all involved with the opera house, he trains and falls in love with the young, talented and beautiful soprano Christine.  As the Phantom works to win Christine’s trust and affection, her childhood friend and sweetheart Raoul returns and Christine is faced with choosing between her childhood love and her musical mentor.
