Originally released by MGM in 1952, the film version of Singin’ in the Rain starring Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O’Conner, won numerous honors including several Academy Awards. In 2006, it was named by the American Film Institute as the number one movie musical of all time. Singin’ in the Rain is a hysterically funny "backstage” musical set in 1927 Hollywood during the difficult transition from silent films to talking pictures. In the story, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are the darlings of the silent silver screen and the biggest stars at Monumental Pictures. But with the advent of “talkies,” the public demands musicals and the screechy-voiced Lina can’t sing or dance. With help from Don and his new girl friend, the up-and-coming starlet Kathy Seldon, the studio comes up with a scheme to have Kathy sing and provide the on-screen voice for Lina leading to heartbreak and hi-jinks when Lina learns the studio’s secret.

Featuring over forty local children, teens, and adults and choreography by Stephanie Johnson of the Free to Dance Foundation, Singin’ in the Rain is a show the whole family can enjoy featuring performances to crowd-pleasing songs, such the most notable “Singin’ in the Rain” and “Make ‘Em Laugh.”
