After more than
40 years with Loudoun County Public Schools, Sharon Ackerman, assistant
superintendent for instruction, has announced plans to leave her position and
retire in 2014.
The announcement comes just two months after Superintendent Edgar Hatrick said he would retire at the end of the coming school year.
The news comes as students prepare to head to the first school day of the year Sept. 3 and as parents get ready to head to open houses and back-to-school nights.
