Loudoun County Public Schools' Day One Is Done

The school system welcomed 8,000 new students and 500 new teachers this year.

School started Tuesday for 70,855 students attending Loudoun County Public Schools.

This year, nearly 8,000 students and 500 teachers joined the school system, and two elementary schools opened in Ashburn. There are fewer school buses this year after the school system decided to enforce a policy that was already on the books to require most students within one mile of their schools to walk.
