Spartan Invasion Expected in Ashburn Saturday
The Broad Run Spartan Band has planned its annual Tag Day fundraiser for Sept. 14.
Doors will be knocked and bells rung this weekend as members of the Broad Run Spartans Band spread out into the Ashburn community for the band’s annual Tag Day.
The band members are seeking donations from their neighbors to pay for various band needs.
The Marching Spartans have won the U.S. Bands Virginia State Marching Band Championship two years running and was named a Virginia Honor Band.

Tag Day proceeds benefit the entire band program, including the Marching Spartans and Color Guard, the Wind Ensemble, the Jazz Ensemble, the Symphonic Band, and Jazz Lab. They will be used to buy everything from new instruments to sheet music.
The band also raised competition money through Kickstarter.
