Passion Fin Opens at Goose Creek Village

Ashburn’s newest sushi offering opened recently at Goose Creek Village shopping center is already packing in the diners.

Passion Fin Asian Bistro and Sushi opened January 18 at the Harris Teeter-anchored shopping center, where neighbors include PetValu, East Wind China Bistro, Studio Bleu and Rooster’s.

The family-owned Passion Fin – not to be confused with the unrelated Passion Fish in Reston – joins the family's other Passion Fin in Bethesda as well Fuji Sushi in Bel Air, MD. 

“Business is going very well so far. The community is fantastic,” owner Jay Lin said about the Ashburn restaurant. “It is much better than expected for the first month.”

Lin said the family always wanted to open a restaurant in Ashburn because it offers the “best clientele and demographics in the area.”

The welcoming interior offers plenty of seating throughout.

The menu features sushi and Thai dishes, along with hibachi and lunch specials. Signature dishes include Mango chicken or shrimp sautéed with bell peppers in a mango sauce; “Queen roll” with crispy white fish, mango and cucumber inside, steamed shrimp, avocado on top with honey wasabi mayo and eel sauce. Also, to play on our local NFL football team, the “Red Skins Roll” is shrimp tempura, spicy crabmeat, spicy crunch tuna, mango and spicy mayo and eel sauce. 

Passion Fin employs a dozen people plus the chef, Lin said.

Watch for patio seating once warmer weather appears.

“We are excited to be involved with the community and participate in school programs,” Lin added.

The adjacent commuter lot at Sycolin Road and Route 659 make Goose Creek an excelllent place to meet for dinner after work.
