Hundreds of Flights Cancelled, Delayed at Reagan National, Dulles International Airports

Winter weather is causing a number of flight cancellations or delays into and out of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Dulles International Airport.

Nearly 200 scheduled flights out of Reagan National have been canceled and another 20 delayed out of 455 scheduled for Tuesday,according to the website FlightStats.com.

Likewise, of 432 scheduled arrivals Tuesday, 211 have been cancelled, and another 28 have been delayed.

Dulles International Airport hasn't seen quite as many cancelled or delayed flights, though with fewer scheduled flights, the percentage of on-time flights is lower there than at National.

Out of about 350 scheduled departures Tuesday at Dulles, 140 have been canceled, and 22 have been delayed, according to FlightStats.com.

With about the same number of scheduled arrivals, Dulles so far has seen 140 flights out canceled and another 27 delayed.

FlightStats.com rates delays at both airports "excessive."

winter storm warning remains in effect for the entire Washington metro area through 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The warning predicts between 6 to 10 inches of snow to accumulate around the region, though forecasts for specific communities may indicate slightly more or less snowfall.
