Woofie’s Pays Visit to Golden Pond

Students learn about pet care from local business that offers mobile grooming services.

Woofie’s Mobile Pet Spa recently paid a visit to the Butterfly Class at Golden Pond School, a class of inquisitive 4-year-olds now studying pets and pet care. One student’s pet receives Woofie’s services, so her mother thought a visit from the mobile pet grooming services would make a fun lesson for the class.

Students toured the Woofie’s van and watched as employees gave Stella, one student’s pet Maltese, a haircut, “nail” treatment and bath. Master groomer Libby Moran answered questions for the children about providing the best care for their pets.

The Q&A session with Master Groomer Libby Moran gave the kids an opportunity to speak with a professional groomer about how to best take care of their dogs and cats. Stella strut her stuff for the kids before and after her Woofie’s Spa Service, much to the delight of the entire class.

“Woofie’s is such a convenient way to give Stella the grooming that she needs,” Kimberly Murray, Stella’s owner and the parent of the one of the students, said during the visit. “The van is so clean and Libby is very kind and gentle with her.”

Woofie’s has been providing mobile pet services in Ashburn and Lansdowne for more than eight years, providing the grooming services for breeds with special grooming needs, or pets that are too large or otherwise troublesome for their owners to wash. The company offers private, door-to-door pet grooming as well as group service during community events by organizations such as homeowners associations and the Boy Scouts of America.

“We are so pleased that Golden Pond invited us to come and show the kids first-hand how important hygiene is for their pets’ health and comfort,” said Woofie’s co-owner Leslie Barron. “We enjoy the opportunity to get out into the community to educate children and pet owners, and to give back to the folks who have been so supportive of our business.”

Woofie’s welcomes requests from schools, clubs, organizations and birthday party planners: petsitters@woofies.com.
