WP: Soccer May Join Baseball at Kincora

The Washington Post reports that the NASL may bring a team to Loudoun County.

Now that work has finally begun on roads and a public safety center at Kincora, a mixed-used development at the southwest corner of route 28 and 7, many sports fans are beginning to wonder just when ground will break on the stadium planned for the upstart Loudoun Hounds.

But now the possibility of another professional sports team may help push the stadium forward: The Washington Post reports that the North American Soccer League, a tier below Major League Soccer, is on the verge of awarding a franchise to Virginia Investment Partnership. The team would share the stadium with the Hounds.

A representative of the Hounds would not comment about the soccer team.

The Kincora development got another boost earlier this year when the state agreed to loan the project . The loan is expected to accelerate that project by several years.
