19 Holes for Hospice Honors Memory of Scott Vivian

Leesburg event pays tribute to Ashburn resident and helps hospice service that serves the region.

Golfers looking for a day on the course can also play for a cause important to their Ashburn neighbors Sept. 24.

The 19 Holes for Hospice golf tournament honors the late Scott Vivian, a Broadlands resident known by many neighbors. He moved in to Broadlands in the late ‘90s; he and his wife, Robin, were among the first to move in. Neighbor Mike Pratt became a close friend and said recently that Vivian became a well-loved figure in the community, for as an avid Redskins fan, Penn State alum and fan, Civil War enthusiast, and political aficionado.

Vivian passed away at the age of 44, leaving behind his wife and 2 young daughters. Organizers created 19 Holes for Hospice as a way to keep his legacy alive while helping Capital Caring, the hospice service that cared for Vivian.

“We recognize life is short and we need to make a difference,” Pratt said. “This golf outing is a means of doing that and at the same time keeping alive the legacy of a wonderful friend and a great husband and father.”

The tournament begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Westpark Golf Course in Leesburg. Entry costs $300 per foursome for range balls, cart, golf, a BBQ banquet and prizes. Those wishing to attend the BBQ Banquet only may do so for $20. The BBQ starts at 6 p.m. in the clubhouse.
