'Got Pink?' Broad Run DECA Wants to Know

Week-long breast cancer awareness campaign leads up to football game against Osbourn.

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Broad Run High School students have been working hard on their annual campaign calling other students and the community to help fight the disease.

The weeklong campaign starts today and culminates Friday, Oct. 14, with the Broad Run Spartans home football game against Osbourn High School. Broad Run’s DECA spearheads the event each year and invites the community out for family fun, school spirit and a great cause.

This year’s them, “Got Pink?” was inspired by DECA’s previous success with Breast Cancer Awareness events such as “Rock the Pink,” “Pink Aid,” and “Pink Effect.” Supporters plan to wear the new “Got Pink?” black T-shirts to “leave breast cancer in the dark.”

“Got Pink?” shirts will be sold at the game, as well as at Farmwell Station Middle School and Broad Run High School throughout the week. Raffle tickets, baked goods, cotton candy and many more items will be available for sale with all proceeds and donations going to the Loudoun Breast Health Network. The Broad Run DECA chapter aims to raise more $10,000 for the cause, so students need the community’s support to reach that goal.

The “Got Pink?” campaign will also include activities for students throughout the week leading up to the football game including T-shirt sales, distributing information and hosting guest speakers.
