What Rain? Dominion Trail Mix Plans On

An event to celebrates the W&OD Trail with a cleanup, healthy activities and live music.

UPDATE 10:55 a.m. Sept. 3
Event planners hope to go on with the Great Skedaddle walk/run around 11:15 a.m. or 11:30 a.m., hoping the storm will pass.

The first – a three-part event that culminates with a free community festival featuring Gloriana and appearances by personalities from WMZQ 98.7 and ABC 7/News Channel 8 – begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, with Hail the Trail.

Hail the Trail is the largest community service project in the history. The multifaceted event aims to beautify the trail while garnering charitable, community and civic benefits for the residents and businesses of the area. Participants start at one of ten locations, or stations, along the trail and pick up trash, pull weeds, plant various items, maintain kiosks and more. Ashburn Patch is sponsoring a cleanup photo contest – submit your pictures of your work cleaning up the trail to dusty@patch.com and Patch will give a $25 gift certificate to the hardest worker for any Ashburn restaurant.
