Sept. 11 Tribute to Ride Through Ashburn

Part of Route 15 to close for America's 9/11 Foundation motorcycle ride, Greenway, Toll Road impacted.

More than 18,000 motorcycles are expected to roll through the region Friday, Aug. 19, in remembrance of those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. This year marks the 10th anniversary of those terrorist attacks.

The heavy traffic will impact Route 15 from Maryland through Leesburg, the Dulles Greenway, the Dulles Toll Road and I-66. Route 15 southbound will be closed to accommodate the riders. In addition, Loudoun County commuter bus service from Crystal City and the Pentagon will not be available that after.

The first riders should arrive in Loudoun County around 2 p.m. in a procession expected to take two to three hours to pass through. For more information, see .
