Silent Movies with Live Piano by Ashburn's "Perfessor"

Take in a movie and the live sounds of Bill Edwards at the Franklin Parks Art Center

 evening enjoying live music by internationally known ragtime piano virtuoso Bill Edwards at the Franklin Park Arts Center.

Known as the magical “Perfessor”, Edwards plays his keyboard in collaboration with classic silent movies. On Feb. 25th, Franklin Park Arts Center will be screening the comic gems Now You Tell One, Outbound and Danger Ahead. This will be a compact show with extra music. Following the screening, stay to listen to Edwards talk about the making of the films and listen to more of his ragtime jazz.

Edwards is an Ashburn resident who currently is touring the country by performing at various silent film and ragtime festivals. He will be performing throughout the 2010-2011 season at the Franklin Park Arts Center. You can learn about his other upcoming performances by visiting www.franklinparkartscenter.org

The event begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $5 for adults, while all children under 18 are admitted free. Reservations to the event can be made by calling 540-338-7973. Be sure to call before you head out in case high winds cause a postponement.

The Franklin Park Arts Center opened on February 2, 2008 after more than a decade of fundraising and construction. The 2010/2011 season Begins on September 16, 2010 and runs thru May 2011 and features local, national and international performers.
