Tornado Watch Cancelled

Loudoun among dozens of cities, counties included in warning.

Update: The Tornado Watch has been canceled.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch across a large area that includes Ashburn. The watch remains in effect until 4 p.m. if not called off sooner.

A Tornado Watch means that conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms and multiple tornadoes in and close to the watch area, according to the Weather Channel's Web site. People in the affected areas are encouraged to be vigilant in preparation for severe weather.
